About Nevada City, CA
Nevada City is nestled in the California Sierra-Nevada foothills.
It is 1 1/2 hours west of the north shore of Lake Tahoe and about 1.25 hours
from Sacramento International Airport. Our neighboring city, Grass Valley is
about 3 miles away.
Nevada City was once a gold mining town and is part of the 49er historic highway.
Today it is a quaint town with Little Deer Creek running through it. It is full of bed and breakfast Inns, fine eating establishments, gift shops, a couple of art galleries, the South Yuba River Recreation
Area, and the Empire Mine State Park a few minutes away. Leap Frog Studio is about
2.5 miles from the center of downtown Nevada City.
